Junkk.com promotes fun, reward-based e-practices, sharing oodles of info in objective, balanced ways. But we do have personal opinions, too! Hence this slightly ‘off of site, top of mind' blog by Junkk Male Peter. Hopefully still more ‘concerned mates’ than 'do this... or else' nannies, with critiques seen as constructive or of a more eyebrow-twitching ‘Oh, really?!' variety. Little that’s green can be viewed only in black and white.

Smiling because you don't drive a chelsea tractor?
This from BBC News reports that non 4x4's, but still categorised as members of the chelsea tractor club, such as the Peugeot 407 SW and several models of the Vauxhall Zafira range will also fall into the £25 bracket because their emissions exceed the 225g/km emissions limit.
As they say, if you don't catch enough fish, spread the net further.

I believe in freedom of speech. But I also don't like bullies on blogs, even verbal ones, as they can drive away those with something valid to say... or offer.
Subjective is fine, but well argued and substantiated is even better. Calm and polite tops. Anything that crosses my personal line will not go up. There may be reasons given, but not guaranteed.
I'm not too keen on 'Anon' as a handle (and the content usually explains why), so if that's what you opt for it may not make it. Sorry.
Well, at least it's targetting emissions.
ReplyDeleteHowever, this move from congestion to enviromental charges seems a little suspect, at least when it comes to actual motivations.
I still wonder about the pollution caused by such as Ken's favourite form of elitist public transport, the taxi.
There's also the small matter of logic that a Zafira driven a few miles morning and evening gets slammed for 'congesting' and/or 'emitting', but the Islingtonistas can pry out the Prius to scoot hither and thither all day, leaving the Range Rover and Aston for the weekend.
Let's see how much moolah this one actually makes after 'costs', and what the actual enviROI turns out to be.
Sorry, my trust fact is... low.
Also I am now wondering hwo this gets sorted logistically next time I need to take stuff to the 'smoke.
Will they tell me what I owe or am supposed to find out and risk a fine if wrong?
